Padlet for Learning Activities - Nowadays technology is one of the tools you cannot separate from education.
Education without technology is useless. The function of education its self is to improve the learning process better.
Technology is a powerful tools for the educator to teach their students. It helps educator to make the learning process happier.
One of the technology or apps you can use to better learning process is Padlet.
What is Padlet?
Padlet is an online application that you can use for learning activities. Padlet likes whiteboard that available in front of the class.
By using the Padlet the teacher are able to collaborate with their students. Not only the teacher are able to post on Padlet but also the students too.
In short, Padlet is online application to change the whiteboard for online teaching.
Furthermore, by using the Padlet you can create an online whiteboard for your class, post a subject, comment a post, ask students’ opinion, petition, and etc.
How to create a Padlet account?
- Visit Padlet site here
- If you are a new user, please click sign up for free
- At this stage, you can sign up using Google, Microsoft, and Apple ID. Choose only one.
- If you have completely written an e-mail and password, you will be brought into the Padlet dashboard

How to make a Padlet for your students?
- Click make a Padlet
- Click the most suitable layout with yours. There are wall, canvas, stream, grid, shelf, backchannel, map and timeline.
- For the next, fill the title and address with your own idea or class. For address you can edit and change it into your name’s class.
Modify Padlet - Choose one wallpaper, color scheme, and font based on what you like.
- If you allow your student to comment on your post, you just turn on the comment by switch it to the right side.
- Set the reaction, there are several reaction available to be chosen such as like, vote, star and grade.
- If you have finished set this setting please click saved.
- Finally your Padlet is ready to be used. But, you need more setting to invite your students into this Padlet.
How to invite your students to Padlet?
- Click share on the top-right corner side
- Before you set another setting, you need to choose change privacy to make sure your Padlet is available for others.
- There are four options for you to change privacy, it likes private, password, secret, and public. Choose based what you need by reading the explanation.
- You can use add members into this padlet by using an email, name or username.
- If the setting above already set. You need to make a link to be shared with others.
- The easiest way to do is by choosing copy link to clipboard. This is my favorite. But there are several options to do like get QR code, embed in your blog or website, email, share on facebook, share on Twitter, Share on Google Classroom.
- The last, share your link to your students.
How to post on Padlet?
Before you post on your padlet, make sure to check is there any plus sign on the bottom-left side?.
- If the plus sign is available you just only click it, but If the plus sign not available you can rapidly click on the padlet board.
- Take a look on my picture and complete the column, for me in this colum I’ll complete by writing my subject.

- Complete the title and write something
- To add a picture in this column, you can upload, insert link, find on google, and snap a camera. This option available below.
- For more complete options, click the three full stop sign.

On this Padlet dashboard you can:
- Make a padlet : By click on the pink button
- Join a Padlet : By inserting the link
- Gallery : you can see another Padlet from others people.
- On the left side, you can see:
- Recent, Made (padlet you have made), shared (padlet you have shared), liked, archived, and new folder.
How to delete a Padlet?
- Choose one of the Padlet
- Click on the three full stop sign
- Click delete Padlet
- Enter the code to delete the Padlet
Padlet vs Jamboard
In my opinion padlet vs jamboard. Padlet likes a whiteboard that everybody can post something. For Jamboard, just only the teachers can post. Moreover, on jamboard application it offers flexibility for the teachers to write. Both of them, jamboard and padlet screen their screen are printable.
